Anonymousso in season 3, we are introduced to a character named monlik. he’s basically like a master thief and he asks xena to help him bring down ares. one of his characteristics is that he is capable of sleeping standing up, with one eye open (cue “enter sandman”). later on, we see xena showing this ability to sleep standing up. when i was 8 years old, i tried to sleep standing up and i tried to befriend a blonde mormon girl. i failed at both.
civilized from denver, colorado is this week’s band in review. they play that vile brand of hardcore that i can’t get enough of…fast, pummeling, and blown out. the first song on their demo, negative reflection, is truly a great hardcore song. that beginning riff makes me want to break everything in sight. but this post isn’t about their demo, it’s about their newer rehearsal tape, which is just as good. the song i posted is called “wallflower” and it comes their new cassette, rehearsal 8.26.12. a short demo of things to come for this band. i believe they are working on a 7”, which i’m extremely excited to get my hands on. the rehearsal tape is sold out, but the rip can easily be found with a simple google search.
